State education leaders cautioned against making year-to-year comparisons, and they said elementary and middle schools didn't have as high a bar to cross this year to receive better ratings."<br /><br /><a href="http://www.ed.sc.gov/topics/researchandstats/schoolreportcard/2009/1001.html">Here is a link to the Charleston County Scores.</a><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.ed.sc.gov/topics/researchandstats/schoolreportcard/2009/District/comprehensive/D1802999.pdf">Here is a link to the Dorchester 2 Scores</a><br /><br />Even though apparently the 2009 scores have been "watered down" to a degree, they should be helpful in comparing the relative performance of the different schools to each other. Even though the scores from Charleston County remain poor as a whole, the Mt. The Center offers an exercise room, library, computers and wi-fi, personal training for a nominal fee, massage therapist with free "mini" massages, exercise classes, music and dance classes, computer classes, arts and crafts, cards and games as well as learning and social events. Pleasant at one time spanned Cove Inlet and connected Sullivan's Island with Mt. Pleasant. The Ben Sawyer Bridge replaced the old Pitt Street Bridge in 1927. The city of Mt. Pleasant renovated the remains of the old bridge and created a pedestrian causeway to the foot of the old bridge which extends about 1/2 the distance of the original bridge.
